Frequently Asked Questions

Cordless Vacuums

Why is my cordless vacuum not charging?

Make sure the charging cable is fully inserted into the charging port. Sometimes, the charging port pin may become misaligned when forcefully inserting the charging cable. To realign the charging pin, use a non-conductive tool. Depending on the battery type, an extended charging period is needed once the battery has been fully drained.

Can I use the vacuum cleaner immediately after it arrives?

When you use this product for the first time, the battery capacity of the vacuum cleaner may not be full. You need to plug in the power adapter to fully charge the battery before it can be used.

How long will the battery last per use?

It depends on which mode you chose to use. For example, Eureka H11 (fully charged situation): Max mode 12min / Medium mode 20min / Eco mode 65min. The higher-power mode has more suction, but also consumes more power, resulting in reduced battery life.

Can the cordless vacuum cleaners pick up large particles such as cat litter or breadcrumbs?

All Eureka cordless vacuums can pick up large particles such as cat litter, breadcrumbs, etc. However, because the front cover of the floor brush of some models is designed close to the ground, it may cause the particulate garbage to be pushed away but cannot be inhaled. Therefore, we recommend using a crevice brush to pick up large particles of garbage.

Can I use cordless vacuums on carpet? Are low and high pile carpet both possible?

Eureka cordless vacuums can be used on both low and high pile carpets. We also suggest you use our mini power brush (a part of model) to get a better cleaning experience.

General Questions

Where can I purchase replacement parts for my vacuum?

Purchasing replacement parts

You can purchase them at eureka.encompass.com.

When should I replace my vacuum's filter?

It depends on the type of filter. Cloth or fabric intake filters should be cleaned regularly and changed once every 3-6 months. HEPA or exhaust filters should be changed once per year and checked regularly. Always check the filter to make sure there are no holes or tears in the intake filters. Any types of tears will greatly reduce the lifespan of your vacuum cleaner.

Why does my vacuum have Low Suction?

There are a few things that might cause your vacuum to have a low suction.

Please try the steps below:

1. Check The Brush Roll.

Check if the brush roll is spinning on the unit. You can tilt the vacuum to the side while it's in use by locking it in an upright position and rotating the unit down until the handle touches the floor. If the brush roll is not spinning turn the vacuum off and unplug it from the wall.

You may also try turning the brush roll by hand. If the brush roll is stuck, make sure no debris or hair is clogging the brush roll. If the brush roll turns freely, the belt may need to be replaced. Most vacuum cleaners have belts that require replacing after extended use.

2. Check The Filter.

Check the filter to see if it needs to be cleaned or replaced. Using the vacuum without a filter will cause serious damage to the internal components of the unit.

3. Check The Hoses For Clogs.

You can do this by locating the connection points of the hose to the vacuum to find large clogs. Try to compress the hose and look for any areas in the hose that will not compress.

Sometimes dirt or hair will get built up in these hoses. You can also try to shake the debris-free or use a dull object to dislodge the debris as an alternative method.
